As a little girl I always had the ability to dream. Many might call people like me “a dreamer” with a negative implication to it. The way I see it; I have God’s grace which allows me to see and imagine the possibilities in any given situation. Now, I have to admit there have been times in my life that it was difficult to see or imagine that things would get better. Many of you who are reading this might be just where I too have been; we grow up with the expectation that things will have a fairy tale ending and work out just the way we imagined it would.
Dream Again – Don’t Stop
We dreamed of what we wanted most in the world, we dreamed about who we wanted to marry, we dreamed about who and what we wanted to be in life. There are many women whose life turned out just the way they imagined it. However, there are millions who did not have that experience, in fact they could have never imagined that life would turn out the way it has. And as a result, many have not only stopped dreaming, but many have stopped believing that God can and will accomplish what He has promised.
Dream Again – God Can Do More
Ephesians 3:20-21 The Message (MSG)
“God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.”
I love this translation; it says that God CAN do more than we can ever imagine even in our wildest dreams! What are your wildest God given dreams? Notice I made a point to emphasize God given dreams because we can have desires or dreams that are not God given or inspired by the Lord. I am referring to that burning desire, passion within that keeps you up a night and dominates your thoughts. This dream I am referring to is tied to your purpose and vision for your life.
Dream Again – What are your wildest God given DREAMS?
Having a vision for your life allows you to stay on course and stay focused for the journey ahead. The journey to realize your dreams will certainly take hard work and determination. While you are on the journey, things will come to distract, discourage and even try to destroy your dream.
I want to encourage you to dare to take a chance on yourself! Remember all those things that you wanted to do and to become? Remember how bad you wanted it? Remember all those people who told you to stop dreaming and to deal with “real life”? Well, I say that now is the time to forget what people have told you what you could or could not do! I say that it is time for you to reclaim that passion that you used to have, remember who you always wanted to be but, never stepped out to make it happen.
It is time! It is time to believe again! It is time to stir up those passions and desires to reach for what you have been longing for… …it is time to Dream Again!
